Transformation Tuesday

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2

Most of us have grown up in church.  We have heard this verse preached about dozens of times, and have probably even memorized it for school or for some church event.

The word I want you to zero in on today, though, is "transformed" - what does it mean? -

"Something that is dramatically or thoroughly changed for the better"

Once again, because most of us have grown up in church, we might not have a point in our life that we saw that huge "transformation moment" like some people do.  Some people have stories of living in wickedness for years but then suddenly turning their life around when they came to Christ.  Most of us don't have stories like that because we've been in church since we were babies, and many of us were saved when we were young children.

So how does being transformed apply to us?

Ask yourself: Right now, right where I am, right at this age - is my life constantly in a state of transformation?  And I constantly changing to become more like Jesus?

God wouldn't exhort us to be transformed if we didn't need transformation.  So, let us trust God that we have things in our hearts and lives that still need transformed.

We'll talk more about this in future Tuesdays!

  1. Thank God that the "renewing" of our minds is something that takes place (or should take place, anyway) every single day.
